Summary
Serves patients by administering vaccines on behalf of the pharmacy as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and assists the Pharmacy team in the administration of vaccines, including influenza and COVID.
- Administers vaccines to residents in all facilities where required on behalf of the pharmacy.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals, including counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Follows HIPAA guidelines to protect patient health information.
- Travel including overnight stay as necessary.
- Meets Expectations of Excellence for position.
- Supports campuses, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct.
- Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach.
- Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing with the State.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science (B. S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Registered Nurse (RN)
Licenses/Certifications:
• North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX)
• Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE)
• Certified to administer vaccines
• CPR certification
• LPN or RN licensure required if Pharmacist licensure is not held
Experience:
• Five (5) years’ experience in a pharmacy environment preferred. Healthcare, senior living industry or long-term care environment preferred.
• Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
